Living Etc – “Modern Gothic”
Living Etc · March 2017
The home of our talented friends Siouxsie Dickens and her husband Ben and daughter Edie was featured in the March 2017 cover story for Living Etc.
Serving as a Photographic Location house, the interiors of this 5-bedroom home in Streatham in South West London are stunning. It highlights many features of its Victorian period while offering an edgy industrial feel in other parts of the house. This blending of aesthetics led to our design of the Kempshott Road Door. Painted in Farrow & Ball's Off-Black estate eggshell, we designed these doors to resemble the traditional Victorian panelled doors. However, the scale of this door is grand corresponding to the impressive interiors of the renovated home.
Constructed from 18th-century reclaimed wood and utilising metal grilles from an Isle of Wight's architectural salvage, this one-of-a-kind door feels right at home in the unique style of the owners.
